Why This Little Texas Town Might Just Be the Apple of Your Eye!

Did you know there’s an Apple Capital of Texas? Yep—it's true! And if you’ve never heard of it, you're in for a charming surprise.

Years ago, our small town was home to one of the most beloved apple festivals in Texas. Growers from all over would bring their best varieties to compete, connect, and celebrate the harvest. While the festival itself has since taken a bow, the apple spirit is still very much alive—especially at Love Creek Orchards.

One of the best ways to get a feel for the town? Stop in at The Apple Store Bakery and Patio Cafe. From sweet apple cider to mouthwatering pies and even apple ice cream, it’s a cozy slice of old-fashioned comfort. Just down the way, The Core serves up espresso, pizza, and something a little deeper—it's also a space for community and prayer. The River Oaks Courts also boasts weekend brunch, coffee and pastry specials within walking distance from Heavenly Hideaway.

Getting here is half the experience. Winding roads and steady climbs lead you into town, offering some of the most scenic drives in the Hill Country. Once you arrive, Texas Highway 16 runs right through our main drag, where you’ll find a quaint post office, “The Best Little Library in Texas,” and the Old Timer General Store, complete with antique gas pumps and a whole lot of nostalgia.

And if you're visiting in summer, don’t miss Moffett Park on the banks of the Medina River. The water is warm on top, refreshingly cool below, and just right for an afternoon swim or a bit of fishing. Locals love it, and we think you will too.

So, whether you're chasing a bit of small-town charm, some apple-flavored nostalgia, or just a quiet escape in the Hill Country, we’ve got a spot waiting for you at Heavenly Hideaway. Come ready to indulge in relaxation and reconnection to the natural splendor that the Texas Hill Country has to offer.
